ISAAC HERZOG M.A.D. LITT.
CHIEF RABBI OF THE HOLY LAND
JERUSALEM
26 Sivan 5783
B"H.
Yitzhak Aizik Halevi Herzog
The Chief Rabbi of Israel
The Holy City of Jerusalem, Tz"u
To the Honorable
The Great Rabbi, the Wise and Complete, whose fear precedes his wisdom
May it be pleasing to Dr. Avigdor Shlit"a
Rabbi Av Beit Din of the Congregation of the Exiled of Israel in Mexico, D.P.
Great and esteemed Sir,
I am honored to draw your attention to my request below:
In his city and country resides at present Rabbi Efraim Fishel Rubin, may he live,
regarding the important matter of the General Orphanage in Jerusalem, Tz"u.
This institution, which proudly stands in our holy city of Jerusalem, has existed for over fifty years,
and has gained a reputation throughout the region as one of the most important institutions,
bringing honor and glory to the residents of the State of Israel.
The "General Orphanage" is unique in its kind as a home and shelter for hundreds of orphans
from various parts of the State of Israel and beyond, who receive full support and comfort
in purity and holiness according to the traditions of Israel and the customs of our forefathers.
Therefore, this institution is worthy in every respect of receiving the appropriate assistance
from our brothers and sisters in the diaspora.
Thus, I request with all forms of request that you do not hesitate to bring
the aforementioned rabbi, on behalf of the community, to provide him with advice and support,
and to grant him all moral assistance within his capacity, both in his work to raise funds
for the maintenance of his daily standing, and in his special efforts for the building fund
of the institution, which the management is currently working on establishing.
I am confident that the influence of your kindness on the members of your community
will bring forth fruit, salvation, and blessing to this important institution,
and great is the commandment that will protect its doers and actions to be blessed by
the Almighty with all the blessings mentioned in our holy Torah; and may it be His will
that we merit to see the fulfillment of all our aspirations and hopes in the land of our desire,
the entire people of Israel, Zion, and Jerusalem, with the help of Heaven.
With all due respect and blessings from Zion,
Yitzhak Aizik Halevi Herzog
Chief Rabbi of Israel
The Holy City of Jerusalem, Tz"u.
